The leftist organization B’Tselem has circulated a video showing an IDF soldier puncturing the tires of a car and soldiers throwing gas grenades into a house in the Palestinian Arab village of Kafr Qaddum near Shechem (Nablus).
The soldiers were in the village during “violent disturbances that took place there”. The two videos released by B’Tselem show a soldier puncturing the tire of a car and another soldier hurling what looks like gas grenades towards the homes.
The IDF said in response to the video, “This past Saturday, May 30, 2020, a violent breach of order took place, as it does every week, in Kafr Qaddum with dozens of rioters. The rioters set fire to tires and threw rocks at the IDF forces, including from roofs and yards in the village.
“An initial investigation found that the IDF fighters responded by using riot dispersal means. Also, as to the second video, in which an IDF soldier is seen puncturing tires, it is currently unknown whether the video was filmed in Kafr Qddum and when it was filmed. Both incidents continue to be investigated,” the statement added.
