El Al announced tonight that it will schedule additional flights starting tomorrow to help hundreds of American citizens stranded in Ukraine and allow them to return home to the United States via Tel Aviv.

Faced with growing tensions and uncertainty prevailing in Ukraine, many American citizens are trying to return to the US but do not have guaranteed flights as most American and European airlines have reduced or shut down service to Ukraine.

Avigayil Soreq, CEO of El Al, understood the state of emergency and a special operations team was set up to ensure a response for passengers.

Soreq noted:

“As the national airline and the main carrier on flights between Israel and the United States, we understand the need to help American citizens return home from Ukraine, through Tel Aviv. “
