Hundreds of Palestinian children in Gaza have come out to fly their kites in the city of Rafah.

The event was organised as a show of resilience and peace, but also to give Palestinian children a brief respite from the devastation of war.

• “We are just trying to have some fun because the current situation is tragic,” one girl said.
