In tears: Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem pays condolence visit to bereaved family

The Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Shlomo Amar, on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the Paley family, whose two boys were murdered in the ramming attack in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem last week.

The rabbi sat with the family for over half an hour and sent a message of strength to the brothers of the murdered boys.

  • “You have enormous mental strength. I can see the education you received. I have no doubt that you will enlighten the people of Israel and will be the greatest of the generation, with God’s help, with such great strength.”
  • After that, Rabbi Amar comforted the children’s mother and their sisters and pointed out to the mother the Kiddush Hashem (conduct which reflects well on the Jewish people) that she does in her words and added that “we feel that her words are permeated even in her righteous children, who are full of faith and fear of Hashem.”
