Revealed: Fauci refused Trump’s request to pull funding from Wuhan lab

Dr. Anthony Fauci reportedly pushed back against orders from the Trump administration to terminate funding a not-for-profit company which was in turn giving money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The Trump administration directed Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and White House Covid-czar, to withhold $369,819 which was to be paid to EcoHealth Alliance, an institution that had been passing the money directly on to Wuhan.

This was in April 2020. EcoHealth Alliance was headed by Peter Daszak.

According to the NY Post, Fauci’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases was so reticent about terminating the funding that they didn’t do it until Trump put Fauci’s job on the line.

Freedom of Information Act requests reveal that Fauci could possibly have known about the link between EcoHealth and the Wuhan lab as early as Jan. 23 2020.

The Wuhan Virology Institute has been openly engaging in gain-of-function research since well before before the pandemic. This type of research is considered dangerous by many in the scientific community and federal funding of it has been and is prohibited.

Back in 2020, Dr. Fauci was a staunch opponent of what we now know as the “lab-leak” theory, saying that COVID-19 “evolved in nature and then jumped species.” However, in May of 2021 the doctor famously flip-flopped on his position.
