Russia strives for life expectancy of over 80 years, says Putin

Russia will continue to aspire to increase its average life expectancy to over 80 years, particularly through the use of artificial intelligence tools, President Vladimir Putin said at the AI Journey conference on Thursday.

  • “Healthcare is the most important field of any government’s activities, while longevity and quality of life is an aggregated, composite index showing the performance of the state in all areas, including the economy and the social sphere. Undoubtedly, joining the 80+ club remains one of our goals. We will work to achieve it and we will do it with the help of artificial intelligence,” Putin pointed out.

The head of state noted that “there already are some positive examples.”

  • “We will remove barriers for the use of these instruments,” Putin added.

The Russian president addressed a conference participant who had spoken about the capabilities of artificial intelligence with regard to healthcare.

  • “I would appreciate it if you could document it accordingly. Government agencies will work with you all to make the relevant decisions. We will implement all the aspects that you mentioned, including feedback, and we will expand this practice,” Putin stressed.
