I’m always grateful when some other publication does the research for me, as in the case of Real Clear Politics, in which I found the following –
“It’s also important to note that he’s been accused of lifting entire sections of speeches from others for his own use without attribution. And of copying, almost word for word, policy platforms of other candidates.”
“He’s even been caught lying to voters about his academic record. Biden acknowledged that he had plagiarized during his time at Syracuse University Law School. The law school had him repeat a first-year class, after initially flunking him, for copying at least five pages from a published law review article.”
It gets worse. That is why the article is titled, “Joe Biden’s Plagiarism Problem.”
The article then goes on to document nearly all the instances where and when Biden got caught cheating.
There is no choice, seems to me, except to call him a serial plagiarist.
Yet 81 million Americans did not flunk him. They voted for him. Did they not know? Or did they not care?
Either way, it’s a problem. They voted him in through ignorance, or through cynicism.
Nobody, they would say, is perfect…and everybody deserves another chance.
But Joe has made a career out of second chances. He gets caught, but nothing sticks. He gets away with it, all that cribbing, and even rises up and up the political ladder.
Along the way, apparently nobody detected this character flaw that usually stops most such people from advancing.
Nobody stopped Joe all the way to the White House.
As we say here…luck is everything…and maybe that’s just it with Joe.
He’s lucky….an Inspector Clouseau type…a bumbling fool who does everything wrong but yet succeeds, gets his man, gets promoted, and gets the girl.
Or maybe it’s not about Joe. It’s about us. We have become jaded. We expect nothing much from our politicians, so whatever their faults, we say good enough.
It’s like gamblers at the racetrack who can’t win through handicapping, so they pick names or numbers for the luck of the draw…and sometimes it works out.
But until you put your money down, or put your vote in, you don’t know what you’re getting.
What did we get with Joe?
Anybody who watched his “address to the nation” the other night saw a slippery politician in action.
He said that through his leaderships, America was first to get a grip on the pandemic and first to rollout the vaccines, but as the New York Post points out, no, it was Israel.
More than that, Joe took the credit all to himself as to getting the vaccines invented and produced, when actually the credit, all of it, belongs to Trump.
Yes, Trump got it done in record time through his Warp Speed initiative. But 81 million Americans will always believe it was Joe Biden.
Because he told them so, and because he has been so lucky…so far.
