The LNA (Haftar) spokesman Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Mesmari confirmed that the General Command ”will not accept compromising the sovereignty and aspirations of the Libyan people.”
”It was angry crowds that shut down oil fields and ports to convey their voice to the international community. The Libyan people blocked the oil ports and the LNA will defend their sovereignty. This is an action agreed upon by the tribal councils. Our only mission in this is obedience to the will of the Libyan people.”
All oil ports in the country, apart from that of Zuaitina (Zuwetina – a coastal town and oil-exporting port in the Al Wahat District of the Cyrenaica region in north-eastern Libya), are closed now.
