When the Israeli military killed Al Jazeera Arabic journalist Ismail al-Ghoul and his cameraman Rami al-Rifi in the Shati refugee camp west of Gaza City on July 31, it also killed a Palestinian child.
The 17-year-old boy was carrying food to a neighbour in the area on his bicycle, as he had every day, when he was killed.

“When [media] said it’s an unidentified martyr, I said my son is not unidentified. My son’s name is Khaled Saed al-Shawa, he’s not a number,” Basma Abrahim, the child’s mother, told Al Jazeera.
