Watch: Blood and screams: a violent confrontation in the evacuation of an ultra-Orthodox wedding in Givat Zeev

Police forces were called this evening (Wednesday) to a house in Givat Ze’ev where a wedding was held, in violation of the Corona restrictions.

The police officers who arrived at the scene, they said, noticed dozens of participants and asked them to leave the scene.

According to the police, “Some of those present began to gather around the policemen, interrupted them in the performance of their duties and attacked them.”

One suspect was arrested for questioning. The owner of the house where the event took place was fined NIS 5,000.

However, the wedding participants claimed that the police had used severe violence against them.

In one of the videos posted, a bloody-faced man was seen being dragged by the police and several participants testified that he had been beaten and punched.

MK Yaakov Litzman responded: “I am shocked and astonished at the difficult documentation from a wedding that was destroyed tonight in the cry of guests and happy people, due to severe police violence.”

“Along with the duty to observe the guidelines, such disgraceful behavior should not be accepted by the police on the spot. It is a matter of losing one’s temper, while exerting excessive force with ruthlessness and without minimal consideration.”

“Minister of Internal Security Amir Ohana, if the public’s trust in the police is important to you, yoi will immediately appoint an investigating officer for this difficult and unnecessary incident. We will not be able to remain silent in the face of these bloody and inhuman sights, and this should not be on the agenda.”

In his speech in the plenum, MK Yaakov Tessler addressed Shas MKs and called on them to look into the eyes of the public who supported them, after they had been beaten and punched and exposed to severe police violence.

“What will you answer them ??? “There is no justification for being exposed to the sights of a groom coming out of the canopy with blood on his face,” said the MK.

Shas chairman, Minister Aryeh Deri, commented on the incident: “A shocking event tonight at a wedding in Givat Zeev. There is no reason in the world for cops to break into homes with guns drawn and injure people. I will address Prime Minister Netanyahu this evening and demand a thorough investigation into the serious incident and the cessation of the severe police violence.”
