Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent flight to the U.S. took an unusually long route, reportedly to avoid flying over certain European countries that might enforce the International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against him.
According to Haaretz, the detour added nearly 400 kilometers to the journey from Hungary to Washington.
- Netanyahu began his trip in Budapest, where Hungarian PM Viktor Orbán announced Hungary’s withdrawal from the Rome Statute, signaling it would not enforce ICC warrants.
