Veronika Sergeyevna Stepanova (Russian: Вероника Сергеевна Степанова; born 4 January 2001) is a Russian cross-country skier who competes internationally with the Russian national team.
She represented Russian Olympic Committee athletes at the 2022 Winter Olympics in the individual sprint and won a gold medal in the women’s 4 × 5 kilometre relay.

The 2022 Olympic relay champion, Russian national skier Veronika Stepanova delivered a speech at a meeting of Russian Olympians with President Vladimir Putin. The event takes place in the Kremlin today, April 26.
“I am the age of the century. I was born in January 2001. Before my very eyes, Russia has again become strong, proud, and successful. Not everyone in the world likes it, that’s obvious. But we are on the right track – and we will definitely win, as we won at the Olympics.”
“I am very proud that today I receive such a high award from the President of our country. Thank you very much for raising the banner of the country high. And we won’t let him go. Promise!” Stepanova said at a meeting broadcast on the Russia 1 TV channel.”
Later she said:
“I am proud of the award I received, the Order of Friendship, and I am proud that the President of our great country presented it to me. Everything that she said at the award ceremony in the Kremlin is my feelings, my thoughts. I see no reason to hide them, I am glad that a special opportunity presented itself to express them. Negative consequences for my international career? Don’t scare!”
“To everyone who is with me, I shake hands. We are together, we are right and we will win! To everyone who disagrees with me – well, I respect your opinion. I’m sure that you will respect mine too, ” Stepanova wrote on social networks.
