Ji Gucheng has lived in a Shanghai metro station for a month. He works at the Century Avenue Station, a stop along one of the only 2 train lines still operating in the city.
All other lines are closed due to the citywide COVID-19 lockdown, which began on April 1, 2022.
Ji and other staff have had to increase their work hours to keep essential trains operating to and from hospitals.
